How ThriveScout Replaced Apify With Its Own AI Search

Before

Apify's per-lead pricing was a real, recurring cost against ThrivePro's own outbound lead generation, and it capped how much searching the agency could run.

After
150

salon leads sourced in Coimbatore

ThrivePro built a replacement in-house on Gemini and LangGraph, now named ThriveScout. It isn't limited to India or to one vertical, and its first real run against Coimbatore's salon market returned 150 leads without paying Apify's per-lead fees.

This is not a client success story. There is no client here, only the tool ThrivePro built for its own outbound work, and the name it is becoming: ThriveScout.

Why publish a case study about ourselves?

Most case studies borrow a client's trust. This one cannot, because there is no client, only ThrivePro's own outbound problem, solved by the tool we now call ThriveScout. ThrivePro's whole positioning is "a builder who ships and uses what he sells," and the plainest way to prove that isn't a slogan is to publish the one number behind it that we can stand behind completely: 150 real leads, found by a tool we built and run ourselves.

Why we stopped paying for Apify

Every outbound campaign starts the same way: find real businesses in a city, with a working phone number and address attached. For a while ThrivePro did that through Apify, a third-party scraping platform, paying a recurring subscription for actors that were really just running structured business searches on our behalf. It worked, but it meant an ongoing cost for something that was, underneath, a search problem we could solve ourselves.

What does ThriveScout actually do?

Type what kind of business you are looking for and in what city, and ThriveScout searches public business listings, then extracts and structures each lead's name, phone number, and address on its own. A Gemini model turns that plain-language request into a structured search, and a LangGraph pipeline runs the multi-step process of finding, extracting, and cleaning the results. It works for any city or vertical worldwide, not only India, so the same pipeline that found salons in Coimbatore could just as easily search dentists in Madurai or gyms in Manchester.

The result: 150 leads, no Apify bill

Running it against Coimbatore's salon market produced 150 qualified leads with structured contact details, sourced without touching Apify's dashboard. That is the number worth sitting with, not because 150 is large, but because it came from a tool ThrivePro owns outright, with no per-lead or per-actor cost sitting behind it.

What's next for ThriveScout

ThriveScout still runs locally today, and turning it into a public tool is a live project, not a shipped one. Deploying it means configuring a headless browser to run server-side, which we have not built yet, and pricing and launch timing are both still open questions internally. What the Coimbatore run already proves is smaller and more useful than a launch date: ThrivePro builds real, working AI systems for its own operations before pitching them to anyone else, and ThriveScout is the next one being built in the open.

If your business needs the same thing, structured leads for a specific city or vertical, without the subscription tax, that is a conversation worth having.
